With the constant evolution of modern farming over the years progress with agrochemical technology, fertiliser development, soil management and husbandry techniques and machinery advances, one fact remains unchanged and that is, without a seed, there is no crop. Successful crops start from good seed and Frederic Smart has specialised in the production of good seed for over 100 years.

Predominantly, our focus is on the selection, multiplication and supply of cereal and pulse seed for the arable sector, but we are also involved with the marketing of Oilseed Rape and Linseed seed, grasses for agricultural and amenity use, and seeds for environmental schemes, including a range of wildflowers.
